So the first workout for P90X was Chest and Back...not a good start for a girl with a bad back that started acting up over the weekend. So...didn't make it through. But, I'm looking forward to a better Day Two...Cardio X will be much better and I'm hoping it will even help my back to loosen up.
As for the diet...well...I think I did okay for Day One especially given that we agreed to use this first week to get our menus organized. I didn't get up early enough to pack a lunch for the office and given the very unhealthy options available nearby I decided to try a protein bar from the drug store. I got a Special K granola bar with 10g of protein. The verdict: not bad...but not a sufficient meal replacement either. I was HUNGRY when I got home from work so made a burrito with fat-free refried beans, lettuce, tomatoe, low-fat cheese and a little bit of sour cream. It hit the spot along with some multigrain chips and salsa but I probably would have made a better dinner choice if I had planned better for earlier in the day...too many carbs! Oh well...tomorrow is a new day and hopefully I'll do better.

Can somebody invite me to this again, I didn't get the email, apparently I am only a follower right now!
ReplyDeleteToday's workout was hard, with all that jumping and such, but at least we could pretty much do all of it. I am wondering how things will go in the morning for the arm exercises! I am pumped to get my dvds and to start doing the diet!! We all need to remember to measure and weigh ourselves. And we need to do the math in the nutrition part of the booklet so we know how many calories we can have. I'm ready to BRING IT!!!
So I finally started today- only three days behind schedule. I have planned my menus and have been doing alright- except for the Diet Coke part. But I admit it that I'm shooting for managing migraines so if I add and subtract too many things at once I'll go under in September (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :-)). But I have added a lot of water to my diet.
ReplyDeleteAs for my chest and back stuff-- only wish the world could have been here to feel better about themselves.... Dave tried to do the ab ripper part with me and we were laughing so hard I almost peed. But I kept track and I'll keep getting better. I bought a band and figured out a hilarious way to do the pull up stuff as long as I don't flip the whole darn chair on top of my self (picture chair carefully held by feet and knees- then STOP picturing for your own safety). I bought a pull up bar and hope to install it tomorrow downstairs. This just means I need to figure out my basement DVD player so that I can work out down there on pull up days.
One of the funniest moments- my diamond push ups. I might need to rename them my diamond inch ups. Down half an inch, pause, back up half an inch. Hmmm. Not quite the full range of motion my man Tony had in mind. And we won't talk about going "under the fence" either. Bring it!
Love to you gals,
Lisa
